Armor Props and Armor Points

Armor Props and Weights

Armor is counted by its general appearance at melee range - not the actual material the prop is crafted from. You can craft convincing armor from materials such as EVA foam and it will count for whatever it looks like.

Light Weight Armor

Flexible non-metallic materials (Padded Cloth, Soft Leather)

Medium Weight Armor

Rigid non-metallic materials (Hard Leather/Cuir Buillli, Wood, Bone) and flexible metallic materials not made of interlocking/overlapping plates (Chain)

Heavy Weight Armor

Rigid metallic materials of single pieces (Plate) or interlocking/overlapping plates (Scale, Brigandine)

Armor Location and Points

There are 8 Armor Locations:

  • Left Arm = 1 point
  • Right Arm = 1 point
  • Left Shoulder = 1 point
  • Right Shoulder = 1 point
  • Left Leg = 1 point
  • Right Leg = 1 point
  • Head = 1 point
  • Chest = 2 points

Each Armor Location other than the chest provides 1 Point of Armor of its weight. The Chest provides 2 Points of Armor of its Weight.

To gain the benefits of using physical armor, you must have at least 5 Points of Armor for a given Weight. The “Use Armor” passives no longer exist; it is inherent to wearing armor but does not stack with passive “Armor”.  You take the higher value only.

  • 5 or more points of Light Armor provides Armor 1
  • 5 or more points of Medium Armor provides Armor 2
  • 5 or more points of Heavy Armor provides Armor 3

Armor Scenarios

  1. If you wear a Chest Piece of a higher Weight than the rest of your armor, it conveys its Weight value to the rest of your armor.
    1. Heavy Chest and 3 or more Points of Light or Medium Armor provides x Points of Heavy Armor.
  2. Otherwise, the Weight value of the majority of your Points of Armor, excluding your Chest Points, convey its Weight value to the rest of your armor. This also applies when not wearing a Chest Piece.
    1. Light Chest, 3 Points of Medium Armor, and 2 Points of Light Armor (excluding chest)  provides 7 Points of Medium Armor, granting Armor 2
    2. Light Chest, 3 Points of Medium Armor, and 4 Points of Heavy Armor provides 9 Points of Heavy Armor, granting Armor 3
    3. No Chest, 3 Points of Light Armor, and 2 Points of Medium Armor provides 5 Points of Light Armor, granting Armor 1
