Maelstrom Elements

Elemental Attunement

At character creation, you will choose an Attuned Element from The Maelstrom that empowers your character. This will give you various effects as you level and give you more role play opportunities while you navigate this new trait and try to discover the in-game lore reasons and implications for everyone's newfound abilities.

 

Attunable Elements

Fire: 

Fire is drawn from the Maelstrom realm of Heraclitia. You are strong against Earth and weak to Ice.

Earth:

Earth is drawn from the Maelstrom realm of Enchiridion. You are strong against Shock and weak to Fire.

Shock:

Shock is drawn from the Maelstrom realm of Foteinós. You are strong against Ice and weak to Earth.

Ice:

Ice is drawn from the Maelstrom realm of Arignote. You are strong against Fire and weak to Shock.

 

Elemental Character Progression

Character Level 1

You gain the Effect "Add a", which allows you to Add your Attuned Element to your damage for 1 Spirit per use. For example, if you are attuned to Fire,  2 Hits becomes 2 Fire for 1 extra Spirit.

 

Character Level 4

You gain the Effect "Resist a", which allows you to Resist your Attuned Element for 1 Spirit per use. Resist works like Withstand, except for specific typed damage.

 

Character Level 8

You gain the Effect "Absorb a", which allows you to Absorb your Attuned Element for 1 Spirit per use. This heals you for the stated amount instead of hurting you.
 

You also gain the Passive Effect "Crit by w" where 'w' is the Maelstrom Element you are weak to. You now take Crit damage anytime you are hit by that Maelstrom Element.

 

Character Level 10

You gain the Passive Effect "Immune a" and are now passively Immune to your Attuned Element. You may still choose to Absorb the elemental damage for 1 Spirit when you are hit by it.

 

 

Variables Legend:

a = Attuned Element/Aspect

w = Element/Aspect you are weak to

x = Number (usually in reference to damage or healing)

y = Effect
