Tengu are phoinix-kin, similar to Ixifar but different. While Ixifar have an innate affinity to the prime, Tengu are lacking in this connection. They seek to gain prime energy through the corruption of other souls: particularly angry, vain, arrogant, or prideful people as especially susceptible to their influence. Tengu are no more explicitly evil than several other races in Orn; otherwise wise people who become Tengu are actually revered as teachers and instructors, while others range from those who perform all manner of trickery on their "lessers", to those who are actually malevolent and seek to hold dominion over others. In appearance Tengu also vary; many are akin to Ixifar in appearance, though others are more human in appearance, with an unnaturally long nose, while others are little more than anthropomorphized bird-like monsters; however, like many of the Obake of Vostour, Tengu posses the ability to change their form.
