Soulwrought

Submitted by Kly (She/Her) on Wed, 10/25/2023 at 9:46am

Legend has it that weapons of great power circulate throughout the entirety of Orn; whether intentionally made or gaining strength through valor or myth, the Soulwrought are weapons that contain spirits which lend their prowess to the wielder in times of strife, sometimes outright possessing them.

Fiend: Marauder

Submitted by Reid (He/Him) on Tue, 3/21/2023 at 4:04pm

Marauders were damned for the sin of wrath. Many were soldiers who succumbed to the haze of battle, turning their blades on prisoners, allies, and innocents in their fury. Their aura fills their foes with the same irrational anger.

Fiend: Vandal

Submitted by Reid (He/Him) on Tue, 3/21/2023 at 4:02pm

Vandals were damned for the sin of envy, for spiting those who possessed something they lacked. Their hearts are so full of venom that their auras transform any weapon they touch into a snake, allowing them to lash out at foes with enervating poison.

Soulshorn

Submitted by Brian L. (He/Him) on Wed, 9/8/2021 at 10:59pm

Though the Shattering divided the world, for most, life went on; not so for the residents of Nastal, whose world ended that day. While most of Orn suffered little lasting damage from the Shattering, the lands of Nastal endured unparalleled exposure to the Void. Some say that the troubles that plague Nastal are the result of weakened boundaries between realms, but whatever the reason much of northern Nastal is a wasteland where soulless raiders hunt any travelers who are too slow to evade them. These are the Soulshorn.

Death Knight

Submitted by Thad (He/Him) on Mon, 8/9/2021 at 10:42am

Unlike shades, who are living beings who serve reapers, death knights are warriors who have forsaken life and sworn an oath to the Ashen Court. Although they often appear normal from a distance, they are easy to identify by their blackened armor, their cold flesh, and the malevolent light that pours from their eyes at night.

Aether: Serathine

Submitted by Thad (He/Him) on Mon, 8/5/2019 at 7:32am

Named for one of the seven heavens, the serathine are the guardians of the honored dead and gatekeepers of paradise. They typically appear as immaculately beautiful, winged humanoids wearing shining or glowing apparel. Most are not typically dangerous unless a traveler attempts to violate the sacred place or soul they have been charged to protect.

Humanoid: Lightbringer

Submitted by Kly (She/Her) on Mon, 4/15/2019 at 10:38am

Lightbringers are Paladins in service to the dogma of Istensia, led by one of the White Mantles of the order - Cassandra du Soleil.
They aim to wipe out necromancy and the undead.  The motives of each individual may differ - some may do this out of pity for those risen in undeath, while others may vehemently despise these creatures and only wish to slay them to eradicate them from Orn.  Whichever the case, they command the light of the Prime to slay their enemies and heal their allies.
